International Women’s Day 2019
I imagine a world where my girls will grow up knowing gender equality and balance in all that they do and inspire to do. I applaud the women who have paved the way before us, struggling to establish women as equals.
In my 20’s I was part of a corporate environment in the Automotive Industry. I remember one of the female executives telling me she had never previously played golf. That meant that she had little choice but to learn the sport and play with the “boys” in order to stay relevant. I still felt the simmer of how awkwardly those women felt in those positions and how hard they had to fight to be there. It is not fair that this “unbalance” even exists. Men are not superior to women. That is why we need to bring balance to these systems. Sometimes I still feel this effect but I stand tall and grow in confidence daily that my own personal success can be despite any man previously telling me I would be nothing without him. That is clearly just not true, as I build my empire and fulfil my dreams. I love the boss babe movement and the tribe of amazing women entrepreneurs that are part of this growing strength. Wear your crowns ladies and rise up.
