Non Profit Feature : Neighbourhood Information Post (Toronto)
Good morning friends, thank you so much for stopping by to visit my website today and to read this article on a non profit organization that is doing incredible work to make the lives of vulnerable people better.
Neighbourhood Information Post (NIP) is an organization located in downtown Toronto that was founded in 1969 by a group of community residents that wanted to ensure that low-income individuals and households had access to information and resources, so that they could be empowered to improve the quality of their own lives. NIP provides various support and services for low income and at risk residents of the Moss Park and Regent Park area of Toronto. They serve an average of 17,000 people each year.
I was first introduced to NIP through the Dufferin Media “Adopt a Charity” campaign last December. They were one of the nominations submitted. When our team reviewed their information and their cause, we voted unanimously to provide for them a complete year of complimentary social media services.
Since then I have had the opportunity to go visit their offices and witness first hand some of the incredible work they are doing. I am also assisting with their program “The Toronto Rent Bank” on an awareness campaign.
Here are some of the services that they offer:
- Toronto Rent Bank Program
- Housing Trustee Program
- Energy Assistance Programs
- Free Income Tax Clinics
- Chinese Seniors Programs
- Assistance filling out forms
For more information you can visit their website or any of their social media.
