How to use Google Alerts to Monitor your Business online

Social listening is any action where you are looking aka listening to what is being said about your business or brand online in situations where you may not be directly tagged.  

Social listening can have many benefits to your business by giving you insights into what the general public, or customers, or potential customers are saying about you online.

A great way to be on top of this task is to set up a Google Alert with your Business Name to monitor when your business is being mentioned on the internet. Google Alerts will spider articles and other websites and send you an email showing you when your business name has been mentioned.

You can also use alerts to monitor for other businesses (what is your competition up to??), and for industry news i.e. “social media management”

It is an important part of social monitoring and social listening for your business to track what is being said about your business online. You can use Google Alerts for part of this, and secondary to searching on social media sites.
