Website Tip – Make sure your Website is Responsive. Is your website mobile friendly? Is it responsive to various screen sizes, and devices?
If not your business may appear outdated and you might be losing out on potential clients and revenue!
What is a Responsive Website?
A Responsive Website, or a Fully Responsive Website, is one that can adapt the content of the site (text and images) and alter the website’s appearance depending upon the device it is being viewed on.
A responsive website will be mobile friendly and optimized for multiple mobile devices, tablets and mobile browsers.
A responsive website is not a separate version in mobile – it is the same website just built using smart code that can detect the device you are using and modify the content it is showing so it can be viewed on your screen.
What if your Website is NOT Responsive?
If your website is not responsive it will not allow all visitors to see all of your content in a very friendly way. I get SOOOO frustrated when a website is not mobile friendly and I have to scrunchy scroll to read the text!! If your website is not responsive you risk the very high chance that a visitor will land on your website from their mobile or tablet and immediately leave when they can’t find the information they are looking for.
Even worse though is the negative impact on your Search Engine Rankings. Google and other search engines specifically look to see if a website is mobile optimized and if it is not they will penalize your website in their ranking algorithms
How to Make your Website Responsive
If your website is NOT responsive I highly suggest you immediately look to remedy this. It really depends on your hosting and website program. Are you using WordPress, Weebly, WIX or another website backend? We build all of our websites and blogs in WordPress and always select a responsive theme – in fact I think they are all responsive.
